The Chronicle of Soong Ching Ling1893-1981 (hereinafter reffered to as the "Chronicle")" edited by Shang Mingxuan,researcher at the Modern History Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and published by the Social Sciences Academic Press, was officially issued on December 22, 2009. Its launching ceremony, co-hosted by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Soong Ching Ling Research Centre, was held in the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling in Beijing.More than 80 people attended the ceremony including: Li Xikui, Director of the Fund Department of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Xie Shouguang, President of the Social Sciences Academic Press, Wu Xianning, Head of Publicity Department of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, Zhang Haipeng, President of the Association of Chinese Historians, Bu Ping, Director and Geng Yunzhi,Zuo Yuhe and Lu Zhenxiang,experts of the Modern History Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and other experts from Peking University,Tsinghua University,Renmin University and the media.
In his speech,Li Xikui pointed out the significance of this chronicle. He said:"Since the founding of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, we have attached great importance to research work on Soong Ching Ling's thoughts. Especially in recent years, we have put in a lot of manpower and materials for the collection research of the historical data of Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching Ling. We not only keep the cultural relics of Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching Ling, but also keep close contact with their relatives and friends. We hope we will do our best to make full use of these valuable resources."
Xie Shouguang, President of the Social Sciences Academic Press, expressed his thanks to the relevant parties who supported the publication of the Chronicle. Shang Mingxuan, editor of the Chronicle, introduced the editing process, the content and features of the book, and extended his thanks to the leaders and colleagues of the CSCLF,the Socail Sciences Academic Press and the Modern History Institute,etc.
