On October 20, 2010, Qi Mingqiu , Vice Chairman of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation( CSCLF) , met with the visiting guests, Madam Chen Yan and her husband Mr. Dick Lum Ching .Madam Chen is a US council member of CSCLF and the Director & Vice Chairwoman of Sun Yat-sen Hawaii Foundation.

Madam Chen was the daughter of Mr.Walter Chee Kwon Chun, who was the brother-in-law of Sun Yat-sen's son, Sun Ke. Living in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, she now holds many positions, such as the Director of Hawaii China General Chamber of Commerce, and senior consultant of Confucius Institute at the University of Hawaii. Over the years, Madam Chen has done a lot of work promoting Sino-US exchanges in economy, culture and education, as well as the growth and cultivation of Chinese children.

Vice Chairman Qi expressed warm welcome to Madam Chen and her husband and spoke highly of her and her parents' great support over the years, who are both council members of CSCLF.

Madam Chen said Dr. Sun and Madame Soong were" of one family". She hoped that CSCLF and Sun Yat-sen Hawaii Foundation could continue strengthening their cooperation, widely promoting their spirit and forging ahead with their unfinished undertaking

Vice Chairman Qi also highlighted the key project that CSCLF is focusing on—a training base for Chinese children. He also hoped that Madam Chen could help publicize the project widely in US to seek more development and cooperation opportunities and be able to learn from advanced concepts in foreign countries.
