The 11th Soong Ching Ling's Award for Children's Invention Launched in Guangdong

Jointly sponsored by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and China Association of Inventions (CAI), the 11th Soong Ching Ling's Award for Children's Invention was launched in the Clifford School in Guangzhou, on August 14, 2015. More than 30 leaders and guests attended the opening ceremony, including Tang Wensheng, Vice Chairman of CSCLF, Clifford Peng, President of Clifford Group, Meng Lihong, Vice President and General Manager of Clifford Group, Cheng Kaizhi, Vice Chairman of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, Wen Lanzi, Vice Chairperson of Guangdong Provincial CPPCC Standing Committee, Liao Xun, deputy director of the Coordination Department of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Chang Hongyan, Vice Chairperson of Beijing Municipal Women's Federation, Li Shuqing, former Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission of Guangzhou Municipal CPPCC Standing Committee, Zhang Ruige, Deputy Executive Director of Soong Ching Ling Children's Science Museum and Han Hongguang, Director of the judges' panel of this year's award. Nearly 400 award-winning representatives of 35 delegations from provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Malaysia participated this event.

Tang Wensheng, Vice Chairman of CSCLF, said in her speech that loving, learning and using science from childhood, inventing in the future as well as opening up the new world of science, were the wish of Madame Soong Ching-ling, late Honorary President of China. CSCLF and CAI co-established the Soong Ching Ling's Award for Children's Invention in 2001, to help children grow healthily, enlighten intelligence to invent and create.

Tang expressed sincere gratitude to Clifford Group for actively contributing to the society and supporting the development of China's education cause while developing itself, after introducing the award.

This year's award invited Malaysia – Dr. Sun Yat-sen Penang Memorial Hall to organize a delegation to participate in the event as an organizer. We also invited the Chinese students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas countries included in the China Nobel Action Plan to form a delegation and take part in the event, which further expanded its depth and breadth. The number of gold award also increased from 15 to 30 to inspire students' enthusiasm.
