Women are the creators of material civilization and spiritual civilization. They are the important force to promote social development and progress. The history has proved that the liberation and progress of women are the important measurement of the liberation and progress of human beings.

On behalf of All China Women's Federation (ACWF), Meng Xiaosi, vice chairwoman of ACWF, expressed the sincere greeting to the opening of the forum. In her speech, she said China has always been persisting in the constitutional principle of gender equality, and regarding it as a basic national policy to promote social development. 20 years ago, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action depicted a blue print on global gender equality and empowering women. 20 years later, Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated the promise at the Global Summit of Women. This revealed "the liberation of women is the longest revolution". Such revolution needs the political will of top leaders, sophisticated law and policy framework, and participation of everybody. The future still needs our unremitting efforts.
