2nd China-ASEAN Int'l Youth Football Tournament Kicks off

Hosted by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and Dongxing Municipal People's Government in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, organized by CCTV Sports Entertainment Co., Ltd and Dongxing Administration of Culture, Sports, Radio, Film and Television, and supported by China Football Association and China-ASEAN Center, the 2nd China-ASEAN International Youth Football Tournament kicked off in Dongxing, a city on the border of China and Vietnam on February 21.

The starting match was between national youth teams of China and the Philippines. CCTV-5 brought a live video broadcast of the whole match. At last the Chinese team beat the Philippines team 4-0.

The match was the first one for the China Under-19 National Youth Team this year, in front of over 13,000 audiences in the stadium. It had also attracted the attention of many domestic media and public opinions. According to data from CCTV Sports Entertainment Co., Ltd, there had been 125,000 searches about the match on China's search engine Baidu, and 627,000 reads of weibo custom topics by 23:30 on February 21.
