China Youth Public Welfare Delegation Visits Japan

Under the invitation of Japan-China Friendship Center, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) sent a China Youth Public Welfare Delegation led by CSCLF Vice Chairman Jing Dunquan to visit Japan from March 13 to 20, 2016. This was the first time that the Japanese government invited the China Youth Public Welfare Delegation to visit, as well as an important part of the JENESYS 2.0 Program of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in Japan on March 14. Envoy Guo Yan and Counsellor Wang Wan attended the event and communicated with the young delegation members. The Japan-China Friendship Center held a welcome party for the delegation on the night.

During the visit, the delegation visited Tokyo, Kanagawa, Hyogo, and Osaka. They visited the Japan Cabinet Office, Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Japanese Federation of Economic Organizations, enterprises, universities, science museums, and social welfare organizations. The delegation listened to the lecture on Japan's social security system in Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, to have further understanding of Japan's medical insurance, medical fee reimbursement and nursing insurance system. Delegation members also discussed the questions of aging population, low birth rate and slow economic growth. They learnt and experienced the disaster prevention policy and system in the Center for the Future of Human and Disaster Prevention.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The delegation traced Dr. Sun's footprints, visited Sun Yat-sen Memorial Center in Kobe, and learnt the history of Sino-Japanese Friendship.

The organizer arranged three different visit routes for three different branch delegations.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Delegation learns from the public welfare operational mode of Japanese enterprises.

The Volunteer Service Delegation inspects the Japanese communities and volunteer service organizations.

The Social Work Delegation communicates with young Japanese.

The delegation learnt Japan's policies, measures, and administrative experiences in economy, science and technology, disaster prevention, environmental protection, social management and social welfare. They also learnt the advanced concepts and innovative practice of Japanese enterprises and public welfare organizations in organizational structure, administrative methods and operational modes. They experienced Japanese folk culture, and improved an objective and all-round understanding of Japan.

The delegation also had face-to-face interaction with young Japanese, promoted the peaceful and friendly China, showed the good spirit of modern young Chinese, and contributed to the Sino-Japanese Friendship.
