China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) held a sport walking public welfare event for autistic children on April 1, 2016, ahead of the World Autism Day. The event was undertaken by the Beijing Star Hope Autism Rehabilitation Center.

It's estimated that there are 13 million autistic patients in China, taking up 1% of the country's total population. Jing Dunquan, Vice Chairman of CSCLF, said: "CSCLF launched the event to bring more attention to autism, autistic children, and their families. All the money collected by the CSCLF Autism Special Fund will be used in the treatment of autistic children, promotion of autistic knowledge, training of the fundamental medical staff, as well as the support and encouragement to the families of autistic children. Encourage their families not to give up or abandon, and help these children integrate into the society."
