A teenager delegation from Fukuoka, Japan, visited Beijing from March 25 to 31, 2016. They had a series of one-on-one communication activities with Chinese teenagers.

These teenagers from Fukuoka experienced the ordinary but warm daily life of Chinese families, pure but sincere relationship with Chinese family members, as well as hospitality of Chinese people through homestay. The China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) held a farewell party in the evening of March 30 in Beijing, to bid farewell to the Japanese delegation.

Qi Shuang, a teacher from a branch school of the High School Attached to Beijing Normal University reviewed the activity that the delegation visited the campus and experienced the study and life of their Chinese peers. She said the mutual learning with Japanese students was very beneficial to the teaching, and the school would continue to participate in and support the teenager exchange activities.

Cong Shanshan, a representative of homestay family parents, said the reception of Japanese students promoted the communication and exchange between teenagers in the two countries. Through the communication with Japanese teenagers, her child learnt a lot.

Zhong Minhui, a parent representative, hoped the visit to China could be a beautiful memory to Japanese teenagers. His family prepared gifts to Japanese teenagers before they left, hoping to bring the beautiful wish to Fukuoka.

Japanese teenagers expressed their gratitude to their homestay families. They had positive feelings towards the local customs and practices in Beijing. Their experience in China would be extraordinary as they missed homestay parents.

The delegation was organized by the Fukuoka Kid Conference. The organization was founded in 1989 to invite teenagers across the world to visit Japan, as the celebration of the centenary anniversary of Fukuoka City. Since CSCLF sent a delegation to Fukuoka to attend the Asia Pacific Children Conference in 1989, the two sides had exchange activities for 28 years. This visit was the first visit of a Japanese delegation to China in the last ten years. Over 300 Chinese children had visited Japan in the exchange activities. Some of them came to communicate with members of the delegation.

The farewell finished, but the communication between teenagers from the two countries would not end, just as the head of the delegation said in the speech.
