This year is the 150th birthday of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, great national hero, patriot, as well as the great pioneer of the Chinese democratic revolution. The Communist Party and related government departments will hold grand commemorative activities. CSCLF will also hold serials of activities exhibiting the works of calligraphers across the straits this year. The exchange activity will be the launching ceremony of the serials of activities. The content of all the works are Dr. Sun Yat-sen's words, and will be an important part of the exhibition.

Qi Mingqiu, Standing Vice Chairman of CSCLF, delivered a speech at the activity. He said Dr. Sun Yat-sen is a great pioneer of the Chinese democratic revolution, as well as a great national hero and patriot, who is respected by people across the straits. He devoted his life to national independence, national prosperity, democratic freedom and people's happiness. His life is a life that struggled for the Chinese nation's rejuvenation. CSCLF held the activity, invited calligraphers together, and used the activity as the launching of the series of activities commemorating the 150th birthday of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. We hoped to commemorate Sun's historic contributions to achieving national independence, social improvement and people's happiness, as well as learn, inherit and promote his patriotic thoughts, consolidate and develop the broadest possible patriotic united front, and promote the peaceful reunification of the motherland together.

The foundation held a calligraphy exhibition to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of Chinese People's War against Japanese Aggression, which was held in both Taipei and Beijing for several months and received extensive attention from both the public and the media across the straits. The series of activities this year will learn from the successful experiences of last exhibition and have some innovations. The exhibition is expected to be held in Beijing and Nanjing from this October.
