International Youth Summer School 2016 Launched

The International Youth Summer School, 2016, themed as "Bridging Cultures with Business Experience" was launched on August 17, 2016 in Beijing. The 6-day event brought together over 60 young people from more than 20 different countries around the world to create a network of young leaders and start-up owners.

The program is designed to help participants develop a unique set of skills that they can use in their professional and personal life. China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and Youth Time International Movement established a multi-professional team that would increase participants' intercultural sensitivity as well as their business skills.

Qi Mingqiu, Standing Vice Chairman of CSCLF, said that mass innovation and entrepreneurship had been a heated topic in China and people were most innovative in their youth time as they were full of energy and inspiration. This event would help young business elites discover different perspectives and learn how to deal with differences while building bridges between cultures and generations.

German coach Mr. Sven Anger of this event said, "There are cultural, social and educational differences. But we need to look at our differences and our commonalities as well."

German coach Mr. Sven Anger wants participants to focus on commonalities.

18-year-old Ahmed Fahad is a tech start-up founder in Bangladesh. "I know how difficult it is to start a business. It's great to meet people like me and find there are stories like this all over the world. That's very inspiring for me", he said.

President of Youth Time International Movement Ms. Julia Kinash believed China was the perfect place for this kind of events as the country keeps its tradition while transcending an innovative and cosmopolitan atmosphere, which had been realized through hard work and adaptation to different demands throughout time.

Dr. Vladimir Yakunin, president of WPF "Dialogue of Civilizations" gave a keynote speech on "The Role of China in the Business World – An International Perspective" after the opening ceremony. Other speakers included the founder and chief scientist of Beijingmate Mr. Xie Hong, Chairman of Beijing Hongshi Chengjin Venture Capital Management Company Mr. Shi Hong, and Italian expert Dr. Bruno Sergi, etc.
