China-Japan Music Education Exchange Held in Shandong

Led by Kuroda Fumio, Chairman of Japan-China International Education Exchange Association, a delegation went to visit Beijing and Shandong, and held a music education exchange activity in Dongping County, Shandong from August 21 to 24, 2016.

China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Japan-China International Education Exchange Association held a music education exchange activity on August 22. Chairman Kuroda of the association delivered a speech, hoping to share the music education concept of Chinese and Japanese music teachers and improve music education through the exchange activity. He Bing, Director of Dongping Education Bureau, said there was a lack of educational resources in Dongping, especially in music, sports and art education. He hoped the activity could promote local music to improve their teaching level, and teachers attending the event could cherish the chance to improve their teaching level.

Nearly 60 teachers from middle and primary schools in Dongping County attended the event. They discussed on music education courses of primary schools and practice report of music classes. The event concluded in the chorus of the song "Spring of the North Country" by music teachers of the two countries.

Jing Dunquan, Vice Chairman of CSCLF, met the delegation in Beijing, and discussed the future cooperation between the two organization with Kuroda.

Background Introduction: The Japan-China International Education Exchange Association has been cooperating with CSCLF since 2007. It organized trainings of music teachers and music teacher exchange activities between China and Japan in less developed regions in China regularly. It plays an active role in promoting the quality education and music education in these regions.
