The 4th Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching-ling Research Session held in the Former Residence

Hosted by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) and Taiwan Sun Yat-sen Academic Culture Foundation, and undertaken by CSCLF Research Center, the 4th Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching-ling Research Session was held in Beijing on October 14, 2016.

Qi Mingqiu, standing vice chairman of CSCLF, Wang Bing, deputy director of the Exchange Bureau of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, Xu Shuide, president of Taiwan Sun Yat-sen Academic Culture Foundation, as well as nearly 100 scholars and guests across the straits attended the opening ceremony of the research session.

The ceremony was hosted by Ai Duo, director of CSCLF Research Center, Qi Mingqiu, standing vice chairman of CSCLF, and Xu Shuide, president of Taiwan Sun Yat-sen Academic Culture Foundation, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

The session was the fourth of its kind after the First Sun Yat-sen and Soong Ching-ling Research Session was held in Taiwan in 2012. This year's session was to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The theme was "Sun Yat-sen Thoughts: History, Reality, Future". Over 20 scholars from universities across the strait participated in the discussion. Young scholars under 40 years' old presented papers, and senior experts critiqued on the spot.

Before the session, Chairman Hu Qili on behalf of CSCLF welcomed the delegation of Taiwan Sun Yat-sen Academic Culture Foundation. Vice Chairwomen Tang Wensheng attended a discussion with scholars and experts across the strait. Later, the delegation visited Tianjin.
